Rollstone Studios set to host pair of free First Thursday events, Sentinel and Enterprise, February 26, 2009
Rollstone Studios presents two free events on Thursday, March 5, 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. for children, families and music lovers. Noted area children’s book author Emily Chetkowski will present a wool spinning demonstration and will read from her book, “Amasa Walker’s Splendid Garment.”

Rollstone Studios presents a new free exhibition, “My Funny Valentine,” featuring heart- and valentine-shaped art pieces…”I asked our resident and consignment artists to create a work of art that uses a valentine shape,” explains resident artist Sally Cragin.

Caleb Valliere and Alexandra Orn put the finishing touches on a painting for the Rollstone Studios student art exhibit “Let’s Celebrate.” Rollstone Studios opened its doors and walls to the youth of Fitchburg last week. Over two dozen pieces of artwork, created by students from the 21st Century After School Program, are being displayed this month at the art studio on Main Street. At B.F. Brown Arts Vision School, where Camilo Neves has been teaching a painting class for the past four years, students were putting the final touches on their paintings days before the opening of the show.

Rollstone Studios of Fitchburg presents a free music performance on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. by guitarist Jeff Healey and keyboardist Mark Maccini. Both are area singer/songwriters with published CDs.

“Rollstone Studios looking for pirates at First Thursday”, Sentinel and Enterprise, November 6, 2008
Rollstone Studios of Fitchburg will be looking for pirates during the First Thursday celebration today. “We welcome all pirates, big, little, old and young to come create their own treasure map,” explains artist Sally Cragin. The studio will provide artistic assistance and inspiration from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for a free treasure map workshop. “We have the parchment and the ink, and you can do your map in any cartographic style.”

Rollstone Studios of Fitchburg presents exciting one-of-a-kind Halloween designs by new consignment artist Betsey Dionne. Her interests include handmade paper cards, gift bags and seasonal ornaments. “I like Halloween a lot, the pumpkins and the ghosts. I have made leaf toppers to put on your pumpkin, and gift bags with hand-decorated paper cutouts of ghosts, witches, cats, pumpkins and owls. The Fitchburg Cultural Alliance’s home on Main Street will host the grand opening of the Rollstone Studios for working artists next month. “We have seven artists signed up now, and have room for up to 10 of them. This will be a working studio as well as a consignment gallery,” said Anne Giancola, gallery director and chairperson of the studio.
