Rollstone Studios presents special free events on Civic Days 2009
Rollstone Studios presents a variety of family events and activities during Civic Days, on Friday, July 3 from 5 to 8 pm. The Longsjo Classic Bicycle Race will be highlighted with Wheels of Dreams, a special exhibition of colorful and creative restyled bicycles and bike sculptures. A photography show, Fitchburg Hosts the Longsjo, highlights the Fitchburg community’s involvement and include images of riders racing and resting, host families, and candids of the competitions.
At 5:30, resident artists, Button Box Shadow Theatre presents an original marionette play for children using puppets constructed from plastic bags and recycled materials. At 6 pm Janet Cragin of Stratton Players will read The Boy Who Loved to Go Fast, by artist Gail Bloom, a story book about the life of race inspiration Art Longsjo. Resident artist/musician Camilo Neves will perform on the street with his band Dali. Fitchburg Cultural Alliance will host a table featuring a raffle and information on arts and cultural activities in the city.
